David Nevue, acclaimed recording artist and pianist, gives a lecture and workshop to piano students in the Charlotte area.  He also hosted a concert along with an art and music auction we held.

Wingate University's First Inaugural Piano Competition was held in October 2017. This competition allowed high-school and middle-school pianists to perform and win both recognition and cash prizes for their excellent performance. Wingate applied to the Foundation for a special projects grant, thereby creating the Charlotte Area Foundation for Music and Art Award for $300 for the winning middle-school performance. More information about this competition and to see who won is available here.

In the fall of 2017, our local classical radio station WDAV approached us for support of their small concert series that performs around the community, giving local, classical musicians a chance to perform live, high-quality concerts outside the traditional concert hall. WDAV wrote a special projects grant to us to fund music stands, chairs, and technical items to make the music available online as well. We are delighted to be working alongside others in the community who share our passion to bring great music to people all around Charlotte.
